I am excited to announce that our tri-parish community has hired Katie Werner as Parish Business Administrator. Katie will begin as Parish Administrator on June 1st, to allow for a month’s time of working with Rhonda Rother before her retirement on June 30th to allow for a seamless transition. Originally from Belle Plaine, Katie is married to Beau Werner (Charlie Werner’s son and Viola Werner’s grandson) and lives in Hastings with their one-year daughter Isla. Katie has an Associate’s Degree from Normandale Community College in Bloomington specializing in the area of Communications. Prior to this position, Katie worked at Rivertown Eye Clinic in Hastings where she organized the work of the clinic and its doctors, including work in the area of finance. Katie will do a great job for us! Among Katie’s interests are time at the family cabin, time with family and friends, and Winnie their family dog. Katie is very much excited about taking on this position and serving our parishes and school. I hope that you will greet Katie and welcome her into our community as you have the chance to meet her. Katie’s hiring comes as the result of a process that began in January. As part of that process there was a Search Team that involved Jessica Beissel, Paul Dieltz, Samantha Endres, Kent Otte, and Greg Ries. Over the past week, this team reviewed the 16 applications we received for the position, and participated in many interviews that led to their making a hiring recommendation to me. I want to thank each member of the Search Team for their many hours of service in this process. Know that your efforts are important and appreciated in helping us work together in hiring Katie.
